I think toy designs from the 60s have a certain illustrated charm so I thought I’d draw Chatty Cathy and Charmin’ Chatty by Mattel in my style. I imagine them as rivals at a boarding school and Cathy is spunky and outgoing and Charmin’ is witty but also rude and self sabotages any friendships that come her way but Chatty is so outgoing she insists they be friends. But Charmin’ thinks she’s annoying and kind of pretentious. But it’s mostly because Chatty lead a charmed life (lol) so she’s a bit oblivious to the world around her. While Charmin’ is a little too aware of the world around her, which has made her cynical and anyway I’m going on really long with this…
