Bio

Damian Alexander is a cartoonist & storyteller who grew up in and around Boston. Other Boys, published by First Second, is his first graphic memoir, and received starred reviews from Kirkus and Booklist. Other Boys was included on ALA’s Great Graphic Novels for Teens, Chicago Public Libraries “Best of the Best,” and several other lists. He is a graduate of Simmons College MFA program in Writing for Children, a Lambda Literary Fellow, a John Locher Memorial Award winner, and you can stumble across his short comics & essays on The Nib, Huffington Post, and Narratively. He’s also created artwork for Dr. Martens, The Trevor Project, Hot Topic, and others. When Damian isn’t doodling, painting or making comics, he loves watching animated movies, gazing into his Victorian dollhouse, and caring for his terrariums. He lives in New England with his husband, their cat, Alfalfa, and dog, Hogarth.
