I spent too long thinking about how a bookplate would fit with the design of “Other Boys” and didn’t want something that clashed, so I went with custom stickers rather than a traditional bookplate using a design of the binder that recurs throughout the book! It perfectly fits on the title page just above the First Second logo. (See pic 2 for how it will fit). I’m really happy with how these bookplates turned out 🥰 Preorder “Other Boys” at Porter Square Books to receive one! (“Other Boys” comes out September 28th) 📚

I’ve been feeling this strange sense of dread lately. Almost as if I’m mourning something and I can’t remember what it is. I feel myself unable to reach out to family and friends, as if I’m subconsciously drifting away. There’s a fear of losing the people I care for but also the feeling that they may no longer care for me. When I was very young if I felt lost or scared I would hide away and hold my favorite doll and let myself cry. I can remember the distinct sound of my tears plopping onto his hollow plastic head and then I’d return to the real world. I haven’t cried in a long time. Maybe I’ll go do that later.
Maybe I should wear my glasses all the time? 🤔
